The Browns got their 2024 season off to a humbling start with their 33-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1, which was marked by struggles from Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland offense. Watson needed 45 pass attempts to throw for 169 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, and the Cowboys seized control in the second quarter. Both of Cleveland’s touchdowns came in the second half on drives that started in the face of 20-plus point deficits.
The Jaguars were much more game competitors in a 20-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins on the road in Week 1, but they fell to 0-1 nonetheless with a lukewarm performance on offense. Trevor Lawrence threw for 162 yards and first-round draft pick Brian Davis Jr. caught all four of his targets for 47 yards and his first career touchdown in the losing effort.
